About Us

Our parent company, Nandorf, Inc., was founded in the 1970’s and it owns and operates a for-profit chain of thrift stores in Chicago, Cleveland and northwest Indiana under the Unique Thrift Store name. Unique Thrift Stores are a for-profit business and are not owned or associated with any charity.  They purchase a large portion of their merchandise from local and national charities that fundraise through household items/clothing donation programs.  Based on the interest of charities that didn’t have clothing donation programs, but wanted to get involved in fundraising and recycling, our Fundraise & Recycle Clothes Now! division was born! Our Fundraise & Recycle Clothes Now! division provides clothing collection boxes for charities to place throughout the region to collect donations of clothes, shoes and the like. It also helps organize clothing drives to benefit local charities. Our programs are simple, fun and a great way to raise money and help recycle.

A WIN-WIN SITUATION

We are proud of the fact that when we purchase used merchandise from our charity partners and vendors, we are providing them with needed funding to support their programs.  In turn, they are supplying us with bulk volumes of used merchandise, which we carefully sort and cull through to find those items our thrift store customers are interested in and which meet our quality and condition standards.  Through our investments in processing, retailing and merchandising, we can give a second life to many of these items and keep them out of our landfills.  What happens to the stuff that doesn’t sell in our stores?  We work with many national & international companies that purchase the merchandise in bulk for use in commercial rags or for distribution in Third World nations.  We are always on the lookout for other users and new uses for this merchandise.
